"ADA Compliance Requirements"
As a commercial property owner or manager it is your obligation to provide adequete parking for the disabled. The American Disabilities Act set forth the requirements to follow in order to comply.

The following standards apply for ADA parking Compliance:
* one out of every 8 accessible spaces ** 7out of every 8 accessible parking spaces
An example using the above chart is as follows. If your parking lot has 173 parking spaces, your requirements would be to have a total of 6 accessible spaces as follows: 1- Van Accessible (96" wide) & 5- Accessible (60" wide) as noted by the yellow section above.
All Handicap parking areas should provide a non-obstructed accessible route (cross-walk) to the accessible entrance. The cross-walk should be a minimun of 3 feet wide. The slope of asphalt should be no more than 1:12 feet ratio.
All Handicap parking should be located on flat ground. The slope requirement are 1:50 feet for the access adjacent to the parking spaces. The access aisles should always be connected to the cross walk.
